Question Keypad on drivers door

Howdy All,

Was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. My door keypad works intermitently or stops working all together. I have a friend that purchased his Expedition around the same time as mine. His is a 2000 model also, his keypad stopped working all together, and mine I have to punch the code in sometimes as much as dozen times for it to unlock the doors. He said that his did the same thing then stopped working completely.

Was wondering if any other years are having similiar problems. Seems like it may be just the keypad.

Lonewolf,

No problems with mine. I only use the keypad a few times a week though. Like when I'm playing ball and don't want to be bothered with keys. I just toss the keys under the seat and lock the doors. Boy would I be surprised if the keypad didn't work !!

My truck was bought in the second week of Sept.

Can you put a keypad on a 1999 F-150?

I have the 2000 F-150 Lariat and the key pad has been working each time. I play golf a lot and leave the keys in the truck. I've only had the truck for six weeks and I'm trusting the key pad will continue to be OK. I live in Florida and we have lots of electrical storms, In fact we are the capital of the world. This could be a problem with the memory if you experienced a storm.

Thumbs up

Howdy All,

Took Da TRuCK in last week and the dealer replaced the keypad. Seems to have fixed it.

Also noticed that it appears to have fixed another intermitent problem that other's have expressed. When using the remote key fob to unlock the doors (before the dealer replaced the keypad.) The bed light would operate intermitently. Now it lights each time I unlock the doors.
