Alright, I'm in the market to buya f-150, but i need to know what exactly is an STX? Does that mean it is an f-150 with just a sports package applied to it? and what exactly does the package provide? Any response would be greatful!

I'm not positive, but I think that the 'Sport' has replaced the STX option. Essentially it is optioned up like an XLT (pw, pdl, p/mirrors, cruise, tilt, CD, cloth seats, etc) with a monochrome treatment. That includes the grille surround, bumpers, and mirrors (no chrome). Of course it comes with the 'Sport' decal on each side of the bed, and I think it only comes in red, white, black, or silver. I think it also comes with the 17" aluminum wheels from the Off-Road 4x4 truck on 275/60R17 tires. I don't believe it has any special performance goodies, just standard F150 gear. I think you also get a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Hope this helps and hope you decide to get one. I know you won't be sorry.

I have an STX, It is basically the SPORT package. The SPORT package replaced the STX in 99 i believe. It doesnt come with the CD or the 17 wheels. mine does have the 17 inch wheels but there like a 1k upgrade and so is the CD player im not sure how much it is though. personally i like the look of the STX, hope you enjoy

 

I have a 98 STX. An XLT trim was required for this package which included: color matched bumpers and mirrors: 3:55 rear gears, and the 17" wheels from the ORP package with goodyear eagle GT II 275/60R17 wheels. It was only available with the 4.2 in '97 and the 4.2 or 4.6 in '98. This package was replaced by the SPORT package in 1999. You can now get the sport package with the 5.4 but I don't know if the wheels and rear end gears are still part of the package or not.

hey,
i have an stx for sale. it is slightly customized with clear corners and the svt lightning seats which are power seats.also it has an SVT F-150 emblem on tailgate.it is red in color and has 33,000 miles.also i have an A.R.E. tonneau cover on it and flowmaster exhaust with 3 1/2 inch rear exit pipes, k&n filter and viper esp 500 alarm with keyless entry.sony cd player.

No complaints, except driver's side door crack.
My Sport doesn't have the leather wrapped steering wheel, tho.
