Air dam replacement

I have a dent in the air dam and want to get it replaced. Instead of the regular 2wd model I wanted to get the Harley Davidson style.

Does anyone know if it is a direct fit?

I just checked over at fordpartscheap.com. They have a HD valance, but it only comes in Arizona Beige. That makes no sense to me considering all HD's are black or shadow grey. Any thoughts on the madness?

I dont know 100%, but it should be. All of the mounting holes should be in the same place as a regular air dam.

But now you have to explain how you dented it....

yeah how did you dent it?

I think it's light in color that way it's easy to paint if you want to?

It's a good question how it got dented. And I don't have an answer. I just noticed it one day. I figure someone hit it in a parking lot.

Strange though, being as low as it is. And the dent is rather sharp. More like a crease. I tried to hammer it from the backside, but that didn't work. And I tried a dent puller, but it didn't work either.

So now I think I'll just replace it. I've been eyeing the Piaa and HD airdams for a while.

I think I have a good story though. Following along the lines of some of the trolls that occaisionally make it here on F150online.

I was out with my brother night. He has this slammed 2004 Dodge Ram with the 6.7L Hemi with NOS (the dealer upgraded the engine on account of a missing lugnut when he picked it up), It must be all of .018 inch off the ground! So anyway we were offroading in some cornfields when he says "Hey y'all, watch this!" (I was the only one there, but he had been drinking and was seeing double). He floors it but he ain't going nowhere. Seems he had tied himself to a tree with some chain. Tied it right around the axle too. Kinda like in that Lethal Weapon movie when he pulls the house down. Well, that tree finally broke free and came flying right at his truck. He quickly slammed the truck into 4wd and hit the hydraulics that give him a 73 inch lift and tore through all the large boulders and climbed up the sandhill. He did this all so fast that the tree didn't catch up to him. But when he finally stopped to get out check on everything he got stuck. Seems he pulled right onto a cornstalk and wedged it right in the middle of the underside of the truck! Was funny cause the truck just teetered there. Sorry, guess I got off topic a little about the dent in my airdamn. He was so mad, he walked over and kicked my truck! The bastard. That's ok though, his truck is still teeterin, and I'm datin his sister....

The Harley valance will bolt right on using the same holes that the old one uses. As for lights, I bought a set of $40 lights from Stylin' Concepts and beat there brackets to make a nice set up that fit the HD valance like factory. I noticed a company in my latest issue of Truckin' that has an aftermarket HD valance. They also have a valance that looks like the lower half of the Lightning bumper cover.

Well, I didn't get the HD airdam. It was about $750. It comes painted and with the grill installed.

I ended up getting the Piaa airdam. Will let you know when it is installed.

Not yet. I ordered it from www.central4wd.com on the 4th, they just charged my credit card on the 8th. Hopefully it will ship out this week. Good thing I didn't need it fast.

Update: I just called Central4wd. They shipped it out on the 5th, and the Fedex website says the estimated delivery date is on the 12th!

Now I just need to get my new lights. What do you all think, driving or fog lights in the new airdam?

I already have some driving lights behind the grill. But the light is really diffused because of the grills honeycomb pattern.
