Door cracks everywhere !!
Hey guys,
I have a 98 STX flareside, regular cab with about 24K miles on it and I do not have an door cracks as of yet(knock on wood) and I use my windows quite regularly. I do have the cracked paint in the rain gutter on the roof though, and I haven't checked the bottom of the doors for rust yet. I have to wonder how much models and options may affect the cracks. I think I will start another post for a survey....

good news so far! talked to the body shop supervisor this morning and he immediately got 2 doors on order for me. he told me he had seen hundreds of 'em and he was a door changin' expert by now. i consider myself lucky so far..the dealership seems to be bending over backwards to make me happy (well, except for the hammer-headed service manager)still seems too good to be true, though!

Any Ford dealership that claims they havn't heard about these door cracks is "full of it"
I do believe however, most of the truck owners out there do not know about it. I showed a coworker the cracks on his 97 4x4. He hadn't seen them before. And he bought the truck new.

I agree...most 97+ F-150 owners are not aware of the door crack problem...or some of the other problems.
A huge majority (75% or higher) of the door cracks that I have been seeing are on the drivers side only. Either the window is used much more..OR the increased use of opening and closing the door increases the chances of the cracking.
