Question Signal Mirrors

I think all the threads about the Muth signal mirrors have convinced me to buy a pair for my 99 SC. Question: As I have neither the time or inclination to tear up my door panels and old mirrors, is it practical to buy the mirrors and have the ford dealership install them? Will they know how to install them etc. I realize it will cost me, but time is money as well.

Thanks,

Andy

civbuff, my factory signal mirrors lost some of their silver backing, I guess to bad seals. My dealer replaced them under warranty. I saw the invoice they sent to Ford for the job, $295. So, if you call parts and get the price on the Ford signal mirrors and subtract it from 295, you should have an idea of the going rate for labor on that job.
(Just so they don't try to lift your wallet if they will do the job.)

Just talked to someone about this and they said Ford gets a big discount on warranty work so, I guess what I said above won't add up. Then, I got curious and called my dealer. The mirrors are 162.18 a piece. That's 324.38 for the pair and my whole job was 295. So I guess I've been no help at all.

I'll stop now...

Cool

Ford pays a certain percentage over dealer cost for parts, and they have "special" repair times to charge for warranty work. Muth also makes a signal mirror that is a blind spot mirror. It adheres to your mirror, works just like a blind spot mirror, and the arrow is inside it. YOu just run the wires through the mirror and door.

I just received the Muth signal mirror from F150online and they are not stick ons, you must remove the old mirror in order to install the new signal mirrors, for me the instruction is very clear on how to do it your self, eventhough they recommend a profesional to do the job, havent done it yet.
