Post Door Closing

Closing the doors on my truck has been a continuous struggle without slamming them. When my rear sliding window is open, the doors close very easily. I don't put anything under the seats but I do have a couple of tool boxes behind the seats. Does anyone have this problem? I have the manual windows so the doors are lighter than powered ones. All my passengers never close the door right either then I have to go over unlock it and close it again. Just frustrated.

Cool

The cab is, to a certain extent, "air tight", and there's no place for the pressurized air to go. I usually crack a window open before closing all the doors.
I also let everyone else close their doors first since I know how much it takes to close the door.

well not sure if this will help you have no sig so.... i dont knowwhat year your truck is but... a co-worker here had the same problem on a 99 he took it to the dealer and they installed a larger door vent??? I think they open up a a hole. There are vents built in to allow for cab- preasure to equalize, it they are small they dont allow enough volume of air to escape fast enough hence your dor doesnt shut all the way.

Just leave your ac/heater control *** turned to the panel position. This works great everytime and is very easy to get use too! Capt.

Isn't there a cab vent in back for this purpose, at least on the S/C model? Seems I saw this once. Either left or right side, one only. Think it faced the bed. Don't remember.

There are cab vent panels located behind the plastic molding in the bottom rear corners of the cab. I've run my CB coax cable through the one behind the passenger's side. They have a rubber baffle mounted within the vent that allows excessive cabin pressure to escape, while resisting aspects of the outside environment.

These vents should allow you to close your doors with no air pressure resistance from inside the cab. You may want to crawl up underneath your truck and see if Ford actually placed baffles in the spot where I previously identified. Put your hand up between the bed and the cab and use a small pencil to push through the vent, if it penetrates you're OK, if not, you have a hermetically (sp?)sealed cabin.

-kindest regards

Thanks. I knew about the vents in the back. I'll try them this weekend.

Vic, mine does the same thing. I have manual windows too. Since there is no motor and that extra wight from power windows, it takes more of a shuv to close them. I hate it too...
