I've just gone through the same thing and yes your 99 Lbumper will fit your 01 f150!Go on www.fordpartsonline.com and grab the phone #.Ask for Gary Star he's the master for parts he knows the part#'s you'll need! There are four brackets in totall. Two are the fog lite brackets which go to the frame and two are side bumper supports for the Lbumper cover which are made of plastic. All four should cost you $80 in change U.S. You'll have to remove the original upper plastic bumper cover directly on the top and the lower valence and tow hooks if it's 4x4. Don't sweat it!It can be done on a Sunday! I would recomend buying the factory fogs for your year bumper cover there almost the same$ as aftermarket!

GOOD LUCK!

The original steel part of the bumper now acts as a re-bar for the Lcover. It fits right over top!If you needed a new re-bar for a lightning they would give you a regular bumper off a f150.

Would a '99+ L bumper/grille setup work for a '97? Looking at doing a '97 F150 for a project vehicle. Thanks!

Yes a 99 and up grill and bumper will fit on a 97 98 but the brackets involved to do this are alot!your best bet is get a complete front end from a 99 and up at a scrapyard. If your looking for a lightning style bumper for a 97 98 check out www.wingswest.com they have a user friendly with brackets front Lbumper!

What are the parts needed? Who has the best prices on the brackets and does anyone have part numbers? Thanks!

I personally had no problem with the factory Lfog lites, but you do have to get the right year fogs for the matching Lbumper cover! They do very from year to year in the way of how they mount. If you use the brackets that I suggested they'll work great and they're the same money as aftermarket.

Invalid_access,

NICE TRUCK, I RECENTLY GOT A L FRONT END FOR MY 02 RED XLT F-150 SUPERCAB, FLAIRSIDE. HAVENT PUT IT ON YET, WAITING ON GRILLE, AND PAINT. IS YOURS AN ACTUAL FACTORY L BUMPER OR JUST A L COVER ? WHATEVER IT IS, IT LOOKS GOOD. ONCE I GET MINE PUT ON I'LL POST THE PIC. IS YOUR BUMPER OEM, IF NOT DO YOU KNOW IF A L BILLET GRILLE WILL FIT IT OFF A L BUMPER ?
