Underbody and Fram Rust!

Underbody and Fram Rust!
Title should be "Frame" not "Fram" - sorry.
When I bought my 97 in Sept of 99, the frame and many underbody components were heavily coated with surface rust. I spent a lot of time under the truck scraping, spraying with rust converter, and finally coating with gloss black. I think the truck came from Michigan. Has anyone else had this problem? With our current road-salt conditions, I am hosing the bottom off every two days to prevent it from happening again.

My 97 was the same way - I bought it used in February 1999. The truck had come from Canada. I thought it was a little excessive - never bothered to do anything about it though - I just traded it for a 2000!
