Post Removing Body side Moldings

I would like to remove the body side molding on my truck. I think it would look cleaner without the moldings, and with the cab steps it would be pritty hard to hit the door anyways.
Does anyone have any sugestions on how to remove the moldings, woth out ruining the paint.
Thanks

Thumbs up

I think it looks pretty good with them on. If you really wanted to remove them you can try heating them with a heat gun or hair dryer. Be careful not to burn the paint though!

Well they are on with just double stick tape. My recommendation would just pull hard. I seriously doubt that would damage the paint or clearcoat. Then use rubbing alcohol to remove the stickiness left behind. That's my recommendation, but you may want others opinions on this.

I agree that the F150's look cleaner without the moulding. I let mine sit in the direct sunlight for about a half hour, then just started pulling them off slowly. They came off pretty easy and didn't leave much residue behind and didn't damage the paint. What residue was left behind I cleaned off with Goo Gone. Good luck!
