How to remove deck...?

How to remove deck...?


Now i know that this topic has been covered many a times....just used the removal keys and this and that...I know that tons of people have had probs gettin the deck out..I am now one of those people.. Just got the deck today and im out there w/ coat hangers and nails trying 2 get the deck out..Now i am using the removal keys and its still not coming out..How deep do i go? I hear a click but it never comes out.. ...any thoughts or advice feel free to share...thanks in advance 4 all the help...

The keys don't go in very far(1/4" maybe alittle more or less). Push in until the click, then push both keys sideways (right and left) away from each other. With a slight tug, the radio should come right out.

I had a problem pulling the factory stereo on my Navigator. I was finally able to get it out after using all sorts of things to try and pry one side out. It just so happened that the spring locks on one side of the deck broke off and was hanging up on the dash. It should slide out real easily, if not, then it obviously isn't compressing the spring lock on the deck. Good luck, but with a little will, it can be done.

Yeah, I've heard of numerous people having trouble getting theirs out as well. I had alot of trouble removing my deck to the point that I 'egged' out the holes while using the little din tools to remove the radio.

Be careful with it...
