Kenwood radio troubleshooting-no buttons work.

Hey everyone, I got some questions, my friend is having a problem with her older (1996ish) kenwood cassete/cd changer kenwood headunit. It was all top of the line back then, her husband was an installer, but now there divorced. Anyways, the radio will turn on and light up, however not one button will work, she is stuck on a country station and doesnt like it. Does anyone know what is wrong here, is there some type of code or is the radio messed up on the inside? Anyone have these troubles before? And if so, what did you do about it?
Thanks
BIll Marsh

There should be a little tiny looking indent button somewhere probably on the bottom face of the deck. Take a pin and push it in and this should reset it to factory specs. You can go to www.Kenwoodusa.com and download the manual for the deck that will explain it better. What model deck is it? I may have some info on it.

I had the same problem with mine and hit the reset . Then went to put the code back in and the buttons still did not work. So now it is junk.
