Stock Radio Interchangeability

What year stock radios will fit in a 97 F-150? There is an ebay auction for a 98 Stock AM/FM Cassette unit - will it fit?

I know the 99 stock

cassette/AM-FM won't fit a '97; different plug-ins in the rear (tried it with unit from my son's /99. Maybe you're OK with the 98, but I know the 99s are different.

You can buy an adapter harness at:

www.radiosandmore.com

Just give them a call and tell them what you're doing.

Thumbs up Ford Adaptor Harness

That adaptor is part number 90-1771ADP1 they are $24.95 at Radios and More. It takes the 2 straight line plugs and changes them to the 16 pin plug that is used in the newer radios. As far as the fit goes, it's the same.

The read out is a different color. The 97 has a blue read out. I think some of the 98's also have a blue read out.

The 99 and up have a green read out.
