2000 F150 CD Changer Install.
2000 F150 CD Changer Install.
I bought a changer off Ebay manufactured for Ford stock systems. Supposedly it came out of a Ford Windstar. My 2000 F150 has a CD player with changer controls. However, the unit I won off Ebay has it's own remote controller. Also, the changer itself has a round 8 pin connector. I think my stock CD player has a 12-pin square hookup. Can I get an adapter to remedy this? Also, why are there 2 square harnesses going into my stock radio?
Help!! Thanks!!
Oh, the part number off my "new" 6 disc CD changer is
F6FF-18C830-BA
Says "Manufactured for Ford Electronics by LGE"
Thanks again!

Stephen,
That is an FM Modulated changer, meaning it is designed to go with any radio that has an FM band. That's why it has it's own remote control. You would tune your radio to 1 of 2 places on the low end of your FM band and the sound comes out there. It's not going to work with the controls on your radio. The 6 disc changer that you need is the XU3F-18C829-AB and the cable to connect it to your radio is the XU3F-14588-DA.
