Post Continuation of Six Disc CD Problem

Hello All...

A couple days ago, I posted a message regarding a problem I was having with my six disc CD changer in my '02 F150 XLT.

The CD cartridge became jammed and wouldn't eject. I went back to the dealer and he referred me to the company they contract with to do their stereo/CD work. They swapped out the changer for a new one, but didn't have a new cartridge to give me. They said they have to send the unit back for factory service to remove the cartridge and it would take "weeks" (not to mention my two CD's that are still in it).

Back to the dealer, they didn't have a spare one to loan me, in fact the parts Dept. didn't even have one. I find it really hard to believe the largest Ford dealership in the US doesn't have this simple part.

I really don't want to wait weeks. Does anyone have one they don't need or would like to sell?

Many thanks...

Paul...

I have one I'd love to sell. It came out of my 2001 King Ranch SuperCrew. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks RP, but I finally got the situation rectified.

After going a couple rounds with the contract electronics company, I was able to convince them to install a new unit, but, they didn't have a spare CD cartridge to give me, they did however have one they could SELL me for $29.00.

I went back to the dealer and pushed a little more. I told them this would be my final truck from their dealership if they couldn't come up with this insignificant part, the GM magically came up with a CD cartridge.
