I cannot get my home link system to program. Does ANYONE have any suggestions?

I have a LIFT MASTER 1/3 HP SECURITY + model running the garage.

The SECURITY + version, you need to program the remote to the home link visor, and then program the visor to the opener.

The home link will learn the remote, for the rolling code .

The homelink web site has the programming manual in pdf and web versions so you can read on it.

http://www.homelink.com/home/home.tml

I put in the homelink visor in my XLT, then followed the web page for programming the opener, and it worked fine programming the same type with the rolling code Chamberlin opener.

Don't know if you went through the learn the remote, then program the homelink to the opener procedure.

Yeah, I've tried the directions on that site but still haven't managed to get it to work.

I'm going to try it again in the morning before I leave and go through it with an ultra-slow.... ultra-fine toothed comb method. Hopefully, it'll work. If not, I'll call the # listed. It'd be a great feature to have working...

Thanks for the response.

Anyone else had any big problems with the programming? Any solutions that you all have found? Anyone have a LIFT MASTER SECURITY + door opener? HELP!

Thanks again.

It's Programmed!

I had to go about it a little different way than what the manual or the online way said. Here's what I did (and I hope this helps someone down the road).

HOMELINK PROGRAMMING :

As you have read above, I was having serious problems getting my homelink to program. I had tried the online directions ( www.homelink.com ) and the directions that had come with the truck and HAD NOT managed to get them to work so, here's what I did to get it to work. Purely by accident...

1. Go to the garage unit and erase the codes stored.
2. Take the remote and program the HOMELINK just like the directions say. (hold button for 20 seconds until a slow flash and then aim transmitter at homelink and wait for the rapid flash).
3. At this point, the transmitter and the homelink have the same codes however, will not open the door.
4. (this will require two people). Go back up to the garage unit and push the 'learn' button again WHILE SOMEONE IS HOLDING THE HOMELINK BUTTON THAT YOU JUST PROGRAMMED.

Individual results will vary but, once my garage door recognized the signal, it flashed the light bulb twice. Vioula... programmed.

Now, you have a transmitter in your hand that doesn't seem to work (because the rolling code has already happend by you raising and lowering with your Homelink button) ... no problem.

1. Push the train button while holding the transmitter at the garage unit. Push the train button again while still holding the transmitter button.
2. The light should flash again. Programmed. Both programmed.

I hope this might help someone down the road as I know the question will come up again.

For the record, I have a Lift-Master 1/3 HP Security + garage door opener.

GOOD LUCK TO ANY WHO NEEDS THIS HELP. I hope it works for you!
