Just got my new HU DEH-P7400mp, had it pulled out and come to find out I have a factory amp. How do I bypass the factory amp?

Normally, when you add a aftermarket headunit in place of the OEM headunit w/ an amplifier, the OEM amp will have a HI-Low line converter in it. What that means is that no matter how much powerful your head unit is, the convertor will drop the level down to under 4 volts. Then the amp will power your speakers.
Summary: If you do not bypass the factory amp you will be restricted to the specs of the factory amp.

I hope that made sense
