How to wire a DUAL VOICE COIL 10w3?

I just bought a 10w3, and I am in the process of building a box for it to fit under the rear seat of my truck. I have a rockford fosgate 250.2 (2001 model)...Will this be enough power for my 10w3, and How do I wire to extract the most power, from this sub with dual 4 ohm voice coils? I dont want to put my amp in jeopardy but I want it as much power as possible going to sub?
thanks in advance.

well if your amp is stable at a 2 ohm load wire the voice coils in parallel so you have a 2 ohm load ....being a rockford i would think it's stable at 2 ohms ...also wire the amp so its mono and you will be in real good shape...

You'll be cooking eggs on that amp.......keep in mind ALL amps are 2 ohm stable.......in STEREO that is. So, use caution when wiring 2 ohm MONO, as long as you watch your amp temp, maybe even put a fan on it, other wise I have 2 ohm load on mine, but its class D though.

GOOD LUCK

10w3 Dual 4ohm

Like Harley said, your amp is stable into 2ohms stereo only. In all honesty, you would have been better off with a dual 2ohm sub. With the dual 4 that you have you have two options - 8ohms (reduced output from amp) or 2 ohms (possible release of the magic smoke from your amp). With a dual 2 model you would be able to wire the sub to be a 4ohm load and then bridge your amp. Anyway, let's deal with the dual 4 that you have....

Your best bet will be to wire it to be a 2ohm load and run it off of one channel on the amp. To wire to a 2 ohm load, you will need to wire one + and one - together. From there wire the other + and - to the amp. Follow this link for a pic and better explanation http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/1dvc.html.

I'd get a daul 2ohm sub or another amp if I were you. Good luck.

I am going to hook it to the 125 watts in the 2 ohm mode see if it is going to be loud enough for me. IF not I will buy a mono sub amp and push it. Its very deceptive when buying amplifiers and subs when you dont know what to look for, I thought a rockford 250.2 would be a perfect match to a 250 watt 10w3.
thanks
