I need help!!

I have been trying to put together a sub and amp for awhile and can't decide what is right. I have a sub picked out that is 4-ohm and amp 4ohmbut I wan to bridge the amp for more power but I think that makes it run hot am I right.
If I'm right would you suggest a mono amp??

I need some more info. Bridging an amp will raise the temp some, yes, but not enough to ever worry about. What amp and sub are you considering. Then I can help more. I am running a single 12 (for now) and a 4ch amp with 2ch bridged to the amp and the others running comp in the doors. Never a prob for heat.

I think that he may have been saying that he wants to bridge it down to 2 ohm? Is this correct Boostin01L?

Guys I want to run a Pioneer IMPP 10. 50-350RMS and 700 peak. I also want to run a Pioneer amp specs:125x2 or 380x1.Or would it be better to run a JBL mono amp with 300x1?

The JBL amp is much better quality than the pioneer amp. Did you already get the pioneer sub? Or are you still speculating on what sub to get?

Haven't got the sub yet still trying hard to decide. I did want to stay with one brand if at all possible. So if I bridge the Pioneer amp will it run hot? Or should I get the IMPP and run a mono JBL?

Just a question, why one brand?
I would run the jbl mono. Pioneer amps aren't crap, but the JBL is just a lot better. If you want to go with even better than the jbl for still I very decent price, look at www.shop4sound.com and take a look at there cadence amplifiers. Extremely good amps from a company trying to make a name for themselves, I think that almost all of them come with built in fans for cooling, and have built in subsonic filters if you need one, they are just busting at the seems with features. That is what I would PERSONALLY go with, but it's all up to you now isn't it

Running a 2ch amp in bridged mode will not really cause the amp to heat more, at least not noticeably. Run the Pioneer amp if you want, no prob. For even less heat, run the JBL 300.1 and a dvc or 2 4ohm subs. This will give you a 2ohm load and a little over 300 watts. That is enough to run any 10" sub (especially a Pioneer). The JBL is a better amp IMO than the Pioneer.
