Did It!!
Been talking about it for a year....
Got new Speakers and amp today....
Boston Acoustics RX-87 up front
Boston Acoustics FX-87 in back
Alpine MRPF200 4-ch. amp
Dynamat extreme on the floor, doors, speaker mounts, and back of the cab. Much quieter inside the XL-trim cab.
Am ordering a Visteon Mach MP3/CD player to swap out in a couple of weeks....but my (original) stereo/cassette already sounds amazingly better, and it LOOKS bone stock (no theft risk, i hope), and considering I leave the truck outside at home and on trips, that was a necessity.
Any suggestions for antenna improvements?

What is wrong with your antenna? The only thing I can think of is to get a billet one from the f150online store, or get a dakota digital hidden antenna that mounts under your dash, but both of these would probably hurt radio reception. Remember, the larger and more exposed your antenna is, the better reception you will obtain.

Reception and chatter...
..the threads have always come a bit loose on the original antenna and I'm wondering if someone has a more secure antenna that would go toward better reception. Has anyone installed a power antenna on an XL?
