Question installing now need fast respounce

My alpine head unit comes with a 20amp inline fuse, I also looked and the fuse block has a 20amp fuse for the radio,
can I safley remove the inline and use the 20 amp fuse in the fuse block for protection? Seem to me this should work fine...

That way if the fuse pops I don't have to remove the hu to replace it...

Like the other post...leave it

That in line fuse is designed to be there and used in conjunction with the power source which is also fuse (the fuse for the radio in the fuse box). The inline fuse is there to protect the wire. Therefore if there were ever a short (like you accidently held the hot lead to a metal piece that happened to be ground) the fuse would blow. If the fuse were not inline, the wire would take the heat from the extra current flow and the wire would act like the fuse and eventually burn open. You would not want this to happen because it would be an easy way to ignite a fire in your truck!

Hope I could help and am not too late. -Matt
