Question need wiring identification

i have a 1999 f150 supercab. i am installing a cd changer and need some wiring identification from the wiring harness that enters the stock stereo. What color is the main power wire and the constant power wire? What color is the remote wire? Thanks

I also need identification of each of the wires in the power plug on a stock 1997 F-150 stereo. I have the speaker plug figured out.

Unhappy ditto...

I have kinda a mess on my hands right now trying to figure out whats what...I need the diagrams for a 98' also...

You may have some luck in a Chilton's manual. Then again, the diagrams for stereo lines are never any good in those things.

Wiring harnesses are usually pretty universal, at least for domestic vehicles.

Yellow- Constant Power
Red- ACC power
Black- Ground
Blue- Remote (Amp or antenna)
Orange- Illumination (Dimmer)

For speaker wires, the wire with black stripe is Negative.
Purple- Right Rear
Green- Left Rear
Gray- Right Front
White- Left Front

A CD changer harness can be tricky. You can use a multimeter if you have to. Just take a little patience.
