What are my options?

I have a 2002 F150 with the single cd player and would like to add a cd changer. I really don't want to add one via RF, and would like the controls on the head unit itself but that would create another problem. You can't control another cd (changer) player via a head unit with a cd already built in right? What about the indash factory 6 disc changers like on my wifes Lincoln LS? I've seen them on ebay for a *fairly* reasonable price. What do you guys recommend? Fill me with knowledge

Well, first question is what is a "fairly" reasonable price? I've seem that most of the times factory HU and CD changers are almost as expensive as aftermarkets, sometimes more if bought from the dealer. I just checked at crutchfield.com and you can get a Sony HU with CD Changer controls for 160 bucks, add the CD changer for 200, I think that's a decent start.

That's my $0.02

Around $250-$300 new. Heck, I don't even know if it would fit.

I'm positive that for that amount you can find both a HU and CD changer. IMO, that's what I'd do.

Yes you can add the Ford changer. You just press the CD button once for internal disc and again for changer. Check www.radiosandmore.com for good prices on oem equipment. The MD6 player will also work in your truck with some minor modification of some plastic in the dash behind the radio. It will also controll the external changer which would give you 12 discs.
You could also check ebay and other sites for used equipment.

Radios and More has the ST-6 with harness for $301 which is not too bad. The harness is hard to get, some dealers will not sell it to you. Check your dealer for prices.

Thanks for the input! The 6 disc one sounds good as I would really like to keep the oem radio. Where's a good spot to mount the changer?
