Just to let everyone know. I took my 01 into the shop and explained that I had the Hot CD problem and wanted the new replacement HU with the fan. They ordered it and installed under warranty. No more hot CDs. The fan is barely audible but you can hear it. Does not seem to present any AM or FM receiving problems. Fan noise is noticable when you turn the truck off and hear the fan wind down in speed. But overall, I am happier now with the CD Hot problem gone. I would recommend the fix.
