Stock stereo upgrade suggestions?

2010 XLT Crew Cab.
I'm looking at replacing my stock stereo for an aftermarket touch screen unit. I've been told by a buddy that Best Buy have some good deals, and do nice installations. Looking to spend around $600ish. I'll probably replace the Ford speakers for something that can handle the increased power. I'm not looking at woofers unless they are subtly installed.

Any good suggestions? Deals? Warnings?

Thanks guys...

If you have a moderate level of mechanical ability do it yourself. Best Buy prices can be Ok on sale items, but labor is hit or miss.
Take a look at Crutchfield. I have been dealing with them for years, they have always done me right. If you buy from them they supply step by step instructions for most vehicles, and most of the time mounting kits and harnesses are included with a head unit purchase.
I have used them for everything from factory replacements to amateur competition setups.
One caveat is that some of their supplied mounting kits are not the best, if they offer an upgraded option it is worth it.

Here is the unit I installed n my daughters Element a couple years ago.

For 600 bucks you'll be hard pressed to find a quality touch screen and replace factory speakers with installation. Beware of knock off brands because the warranty ends when you leave the parking lot..lol A quality Kenwood or pioneer is a great place to look and they have alot of adjustability. A cost effective sub is this one ....

I installed one in my wife's Corolla S and it sounds great for the money. I have also installed The CS series kickers from walmart in my daughters car and for not being amplified they sound great for the money. Everything revolves around budget. The smaller the budget the lower the quality.

crutchfield.com usually has good prices and install and wiring on HU and speakers is pretty straight forward.

I think 600 bucks is more than enough to get a new car stereo.. I highly suggest well known brands for better warranty system.
