What is this harness for?

I just installed a Kenwood ddx5901hd in my 07 f150 xlt, the stock radio only had two harnesses plugged into it one big one and this in the photo. I do have an aux port in the dash and was wondering if it had anything to do with it and where I can find an adapter for it. Thanks in advance.

they were both plugged into the factory radio?

does everything work both in the truck and the replacement radio?

If I were to guess it might be related to steering wheel radio controls, or if the radio displayed temp or something else from a sensor or the computer... that's just a guess though

The grey plug was in the back of the factory head unit but the black one was taped back to the main harness bundle.

Everything works except for the aux port in the dash, and the truck didn't come with the amp and sub that might call for the black plug. As far as steering wheel controls go, I know some trucks have the cruise control on the left side and radio controls on the right on the wheel but I've got cruise on both sides of the wheel, left is on/off and the right side are the actual controls for the cruise control. As far as what the radio displayed, I don't know, when I bought the truck the radio itself worked but the display didn't work hence the reason I replaced it.

Thanks for the input.

I know someone once shared a link to wire diagrams on here, and they're in most repair manuals. I don't have a book that covers your truck, hence my guess, but that would be the next step if you really want to know for sure.

The black one might be for an optional external CD changer

this is what I have found for the grey 16 pin connector, looks like its for the aux input and the sub and amp if the truck came with it, which mine didn't.

as for the black connector, I assume it probably is what powers the amp that would sit under the factory head unit or possibly goes in the radio for the CD changer, which is also not equipped in my truck.

thanks for the help.
