Ipod and head unit problem......

I removed the Ford radio at purchase and installed a Pioneer double din unit.
It just died. No problem, it was 11 years old.........
Just purchased a Kenwood DDX392 double din unit. When I plug the Ipod into it, it will work and play songs, however, it plays the wrong songs. I press a song title and it plays a different song!! My Ipod is a first gen Nano. The info on the box says a Nano 1 gen will work in this unit...and it does, but plays a different song than the title says. I cleaned the Ipod and re-loaded it but the same thing happens........Anybody got something?

Does it do the same thing with just head phones? if it does reset the Ipod buy holding the menu button and the center at the same time till the screen turns grey with an apple in the middle. This may help. My ladies did the same thing in her corolla and a reset solved the problem.
