I know you asked a month ago , But I'm working on one now.
It's still in rough shape. Working on body work now. I didn't want to relocate my ac controls so it will stick out a bit but not much. I got it as close as possible to the controls. You can see here
I'm using it along with a pioneer 80prs.
I hooked up my iPhone 5 with lightning cable direct, and there is no problem reading. I seem some people say the deck doesn't read lightning cables. Mine is fine. Some people use a istreamer and a sound processor to get rid of the deck itself but I prefer a deck.
