cb antenna mount ideas

cb antenna mount ideas

Im looking at getting a campershell for my truck and i need ideas on how to mount the antennas. i know there are stake pocket mounts. but i am unsure if it would look good. Thanks guys

I have stake pocket mounts on my truck and they are almost invisble unless you are standing right next to the truck.

And they are pretty sturdy even with 5ft fiberglass whips on them.

^those, unless you want to get fancy and buy a magnetic antenna and stick on the cab of your truck...

Stake pocket mount would be fine with a Firestik. Mechanically anyway. You really ought to have your radiating element above any metal close to it. Ideally, a mag mount on the roof would be best for transmission / reception, but horrid for your paint...

That's fine and dandy but when these trucks are almost 7ft tall adding an antenna to the roof is pretty much out of the question. All it would take is forgetting it's there once to cause serious damage to the roof, antenna, and what ever you hit. I will sacrifice two $35 antennas every chance I get to avoid the truck going to the body shop I even use them as a warning device while making sharp turns and jack knifing my fifth wheel.
