Do Sync firmware upates and apps for the F-150 really exist?

 

Yes, at syncmyride, I just downloaded an update. Took the USB out to the truck, plugged it in, it did not start installing it automatically as the instructions on the web site said it should, had to go into "Install Application". After pointing it to the install, it said "installation complete" then "rebooting system" whereupon the system shut down and did not restart. Key off, then back on, powered up HU, L O N G delay, big relief, everything working. Took the USB back to 'puter, told the web site the install was competed, it did NOT correctly read the .xml file off the USB that was supposed to tell it the install has completed sucessfully, instead it told me i needed to update my SYNC again and prompted me to download the same update again. Sigh. Need to check the version number on my HU now and see if it actually updated it or not. I am not messing with it; too much hassle and I am not keeping the factory HU for much longer anyway, replacing the entire audio and NAV with aftermarket.

 

As far as I can tell, the latest Sync firmware for my 2010 is v3.1 and that's what it came with. Been hoping for a fix to the iPhone Bluetooth audio problem where it streams audio without being commanded by the driver. The Sync system shouldn't do a damn thing until the driver says so.

 

I'd have to check, but i think i have the v3.1 and my iphone will still play automatically at times. The only way i can get it to not do it, is by restarting the phone. It only does that after i listen via bluetooth. Sucks each company is blaming the other.
