Sound Deadening Project

Figured since I'm taking everything out to repaint the interior plastic, that I might as well slowly work my way sound deadening the truck. Do I really need to cover every square inch of the truck or can I just do what I've done so far?

What's it for? This isn't done yet, I still have the Ensolite Peel-N-Stick. I'll put it up tomorrow along with slowly putting the truck together.

They say you dont have to cover every inch, if you have it all apart like that you might as well do as much as you can.

might want to hit the b pillar. That stuff is a pain though. I think my next try I'll do something like lizard skin and just blast the whole thing.

I'll try I guess, don't forget I still got a layer of Ensolite, it's padding.

Where's the B pillar?

I just drive a regular cab truck, so I'm guessing the B pillar would be the door itself or where the rear speakers are?

Got more of the roof and back wall done.

I'm going to try and put some padding on the back wall while at work along with spray painting some things.

Now, can I put my back wall carpet and plastic on and still be able to remove the floor carpet?

What you've done is plenty for those particular panels. You don't want to cover every square inch, its just wasted material and added weight. If you are really trying to kill noise, deaden the floor and put some MLV or something like secondskin's Luxury Liner Pro on the floor. It works wonders.

I'll put putting BXT II on the floor along with more of the extra padding which seemed to work wonders on the roof. I tap on the roof and it's a low knocking sound, unlike before it was high pitched and annoying.

I'd have pictures of what else I did for the sound proofing. But, the wife got her purse stolen last night which had my digital camera. Basically I put the padding all over the back, and now I'm just waiting to order for my doors and floor, then I'll be done!

What deadener are you using?

Also, id reccomend any gaps in the metal to fill wtih spray foam, I know I used like 4 cans on my A pillars and outter roof supports.

RAAMmat BXT and Esolite. Spray foam? What kind? I basically put Esolite on the back wall like I did for the roof.
