how hard is it to wire a 12V circuit to be used with the PS2's power adapter?

i see the kits for the cig lighter inverter but i was wondering how hard it is to hardwire?

Something like this

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Xantrex+...rter&cp=1&lp=7

and use a 10 gauge amp kit to get power from the battery.

FYI, the small PS2 uses 5.3A (approximately 45W)

The full size uses 78W.

As someone who's been using power inverters since my first TV and a vcr in an olds minivan (he's in the army now) to watch barny videos driving. You can get some decent ones (don't go cheap you will regret it as it can kill the device). I'd say I've killed in my time at least 4 of those devices and several batteries. That's the big down side to those 12 inverters that runn off the cig lighter. It will greatly shorten the life of a battery. If you are going to pull things like ps2's or xbox's get the best battery you can. We have a power inverter in our SUV that's runs off the engine and it's nice. My teenager loves the drop down video and playing the xbox and wii on long drives and it's nice to just plug it into a regular outlet. We would commute from the midwest to the east coast to see family a good 10.50 hr drive. I just bought a crew cab and was ticked they did not offer a power option. I guess I'm back in the 12v power inverter market again. I'm sure I'll be replacing the battery some day soon
