Phone button on 08

So i have read about the phone button not doing anything on peoples trucks and various people claiming that is a sync retrofit. But nothing is concete. So What the scoop. Can i hook my blue tooth phone to the truck radio or am i screwed until i buy some other module. also is there a ipod docking cord i can buy for this to port audio and ipod functions to the stereo controls?
Thanks
Steve

there are several ipod cords: one that conects directly by the line in spot above your stero controls, one that links to you 12v or cigarette outlet that you set to a radio station to listen to, or when you upgrade head units most people get one that goes into their glove compartment

As for bluetooth, im sure there is some factory installed "aftermarket" piece that can be made to use that phone button. As far as i know all it does is mute the radio. For the price you pay for it, it would probablly be better off to get an aftermarket bluetooth with its own seperate screen.

That leads into the ipod question. There is a new system that just came out from parrot that incorporates ipod control with it. The unit is absolutely amazing...
