Hiss!

I am having a problem with background hiss in my new system. I have never had this problem before in my last 5 systems that I have installed. I decided to go Eclipse with the new AVN 726E. My set up is as follows.
AVN 726E, Audio Control DQS, Kicker KX400.1, Kicker KX350.1 and Alpine components front, 3ways in the rear. I have tuned the DQS per the manufacturer, and I hate to inform you nah sayers but the AVN726E does not put out 5 volts per ch. didn't even light up the LED's at 2 volts. I am getting hiss even when the HU is muted. Its power related somehow I just cant find it. I have checked all my grounds and even ran a chassis ground to the HU. Anybody got an idea?

Try hooking the speakers straight to the HU. If the hiss persists, its the HU. If it goes away, its either the amp or the DQS in which case 2) run the RCAs from the HU straight to the amp. If the hiss persists, its your amplifier. If the hiss is gone, its your EQ.

How bad is the hiss? Does it get louder as you increase volume? Does it increase frequency with engine RPMs?

Its the way the new Eclipse HU's are. I have troubleshooted many 726E's and 6620's through many Ford vehicles all develop noise. Its really odd. Only car manu that Ive seen that problem in.

And thats 5v MAX on the leads not RMS. (dont always trust the 2v clip light. Its not exactly for determining the voltage.)
