Mtx re-q5

I installed a MTX RE-Q5 in order to get some outputs for the interconnects....this baby is supposed to level the bass so you don't loose anything at higher levels like you do with the factory system. I am still using the factory head unit (Nav system). Problem is, I still loose the bass at higher volume levels. I contacted MTX - they recommended I tap into the wires after the Sony amp and not before as I have it now.

Anyone know where to tap into after the amp? Right now I am tapped at the plug before it connects to the amp. Should I tap into the factory sub wires and run those to the RE-Q5 as well? MTX said it didn't matter, but doesn't sound right to me?

BTW, I am using an Alpine PDX-5 amp.

Thanks for any input.

I think what they mean by "after the factory amp" is the wires coming from the factory amp which connect to the sub woofer itself.Unfortunately doing this requires the factory amp/sub to be left connected. If anybody else has any idea let us know because I am thinking of installing a Rockford 3sixty to add Alpine amps & JL subs.

The Sony amp is under the console and it's still there. The amp for the sub is affixed to the sub box, so that has been removed to make room for the Pro Box. I ended up tapping into the sub wires at the sub harness and it appears to be working okay.....
