Audio Upgrade on 2009

Anyone done any audio upgrades to an 09? I see no room to put any subs so what has anyone done to improve over the factory system? If you have done any sort of mods and have any pics, please provide!

Thanks!

Oh, and not really just interested in bass, but do want more than what is in there now and need some better quality all around, cause that stuff from the factory is pretty pathetic!!!

Like Sundevil said, need to know what is in there now. My FX4 came with the Nav with Sony - it sounds damn nice at lower levels. Turn the volume past the half-way and point and you loose the bass. To some, no big deal. But if I wanna turn up some old school Def Leppard, then I wanna hear it. Not with this!

First thing I did was replace the factory door speakers - made a huge improvement. I had the tweeters in the A pillars, so I went with components in the front doors and coaxials in the rear. The factory size is 5X7, but a 6X8 will work as well. If you are not wanting to add a sub system/amp, I would recommend you get the speaker adaptors - that way you don't have to cut your factory wires. Crutchfield sells them for $12.99 a pair:

I think Best Buy sells them as well, but never looked for them there.

Let us know what you want to do. I can help you with the door panel removal - you must remove them to change the speakers.

Mine is just the SYNC radio with no audio upgrades, no factory sub. Personally, I have never been in an American Made vehicle that had an adequate sound system for me so I never really worry about that from the factory as I know I am going to change it anyway.

May end up taking it to a custom audio shop and having it done professionally because I don't want to screw anything up myself! My last F250 I had , the highs mounted on the pillars, sub and amps behind back seat, etc. but my new 150 doesn't have that room available behind the seat.

Anyway, if anyone has any pics of some custom jobs (or personal ones) I would love to see them. Thanks for the input and if I do dive into this myself, I will DEFINITELY ask for assistance on removing the door panels as I have read that they can be tricky to get off.

Thanks again!

You can fit some pretty nice subs under the rear seat but youll have to get a seat lift!

Ill post up some pics of my 12" Fi Bl tuned to 35.5Hz on a Sundown Audio SAZ 1500D laterr

You don't always need a seat lift.

I changed all the door speakers (p1572c) and added 2 subs under backseat (p3sd410) i have 1 amp (p400-4) for doors and 1 amp for subs (p500-2) bridged...ther is also a 18db remote gain for the subs....I just have the regular 6-disc factory head unit in my truck and everything sounds great...I have some pics in my gallery...
