Tailgating Setup

Hey guys,

Figured since the audio systems being discussed in this section are for our trucks I'd ask about this here. I'm looking to do something (table's open) to allow me to run my radio with the engine off while we tailgate. After my initial research I've found that one of the less expensive ways to do it is to hook up a deep-cycle battery with the starter battery on an isolator.

I'll probably pick up a small generator to run other accessories, but I figured it would be easiest to avoid having to wire the radio up with a generator (unless anyone knows how and it's fairly easy?).

Does anyone have any suggestions? If the isolator route is the way to go, any suggestions on what brand deep-cycle/isolator and where to buy? I'd assume it's not too difficult to wire up from what I've read. If you guys have any other suggestions on how to do this I'm open for them. Or if there's a way to hook the radio up to the generator that may be easiest since we'll be getting one of those anyway.

I'm a beginner to this kind of stuff so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Matt
