Scotty, First of all the set up looks great. I was thinking about changing my HU out to the DEHP9300 but I think I am going to hang with my 8800 for a little while longer. Did you do the install yourself or did a local shop do it. Did they explain that you can download your own images into that head unit? You can put a pic of your truck in there and use it as a screensaver.

Well I work at the shop, the way you dl the new images into the face is you buy this piece from pioneer. it is a bit larger than the faceplate. then you take the face off the deck and place it into this docking station i guess you can call it. then plug it into your com1 port on you cpu. then dl what ever you want. it is a real slick setup. i am also going to get XM radio once it comes out.

Scotty, I actually rep Pioneer in Ohio and western PA. so I get to see the goodies early. I have a bunch of the ports and I am going to try and figure it out firsthand so when my dealers call I can walk them through it. I can't wait until the XM stuff hits, I keep hearing..."Future Release". The model is going to be GEXP900XM...at least for now. I keep going to all the meetings and sales training and getting fed all this hype and I still don't have one. I am toying with the thought of doing the AVXP7300DVD and the AVIC9DVD in the dash and tucking the AVMP9000R under the seat. If so I will have to submit some new pics I guess.

Cool

You can see my install at the thread in my signature. I will be updating it soon because I now have an Eclipse head-unit and an Eclipse indash 6-disc changer.

Just finished installing my audio system in my Lightning. I did a two page write up on it on my website listed below my sig, look under Misc, then Lightning Audio.

For the front end I used a Kicker 5x7 Component set, I chose to mount the tweeter coaxial style to save time. I may install a smaller set of tweeters in the sail panel later.

Here's the amps, one PPI 2030 and one PPI 2075, power dist block and an Audio Control EQX. I used an MTX Thunderform for a sub box. Compared to some of my previous cars, this cab was really easy to get dialed in. I think I cut the bass in a few bands and the rest were all set to flat. I tune by ear using some of my old test discs (Bird on a Wire, Yellow, Londonbeat, etc).

Jupiterak and roc_sld, where did you get the bracket for the for your dash? Did you have to build or modify them yourself or are they readily available for a double-din or 2 din components. Thanks.

I had to do everything myself. Since this DD was made for a Jap. car I had to customize everything.

Thumbs up Well its not as elaborate as some of yours but...

Thanks to everybody who helped me out by answering my questions. Here is my finished install of my Rockford Fosgate RX9000 MP3/CD player and a Scosche dash kit. I have Pioneer 2 Way 6x8s all the way around and the system really sounds awesome.

I am happy as I have never done any installs before as I have always been happy enough with my stock systems. Hell it works and looks ok.

Thanks again.

Chris
