Question Head Unit Install Help

I just purchased a 98 F150 reg. cab, and I would like to install a new head unit in the dash. Can anyone tell me how to remove the trim around the stereo without breaking it?

Thanks,

Tom

Thumbs up

Hello Twiley. When I replaced my radio I just put in the removal tools and gently pulled and the face plate just popped right off with out any problems. One thing to watch out for is that there is a wire attached to the air bag on/off switch that will swing the face plate around if you aren't holding on to it and that might scratch your dash. Other that that it's a piece of cake!

I saw the guy that helped me with mine and I think all you have to do is open the cigarette lighter compartment, stick your fingers there and pull the piece of plastic around the radio/ac controls. There are no screws or anything that I know of.

Hope this helps.

Isn't this guy asking about the plastic piece that sits on/around the radio??? That's what I understood any way.

Tom Just stick your fingernails under the top edge and pull slowly. If you havn't bought the dask kit get the scoshe kit, in my humble poinion it is the best kit for our trucks.
