question about the 6 disk changer in my console
I would like to change out my head unit and speakers add amps etc....is there a way to hook up my 6 disk changer that is under my armrest to a new head unit??? Also does anyone have any suggestions of headunits that will fit the "double din"?????spave in the dash..I would rather not use fit kit and keep looking clean with same size match head unit. Maybe someone knows of a head unit that will control this six disk changer???? Thanks in advance.
I also looked for a double din unit, gtf'.
You'll find that your choices are going to be severely limited. If this is not a concern, you can go to crutchfield and find one.
After awhile, I began looking at other units. I settled on a Blaupunkt and the fit kit for my particular model (and, I would hazard to guess for most "standard" size HU's) left me with a nifty little slot in which I can keep my shades or my change "purse" (I hate rifling thru my console and cupholders to get loose change, don't you?)
Also, the kit fits so well, that were it not for the obvious aftermarket HU in my dash, you couldn't tell it's not stock.
I never found an aftermarket HU that would control my changer, and frankly, I haven't missed it. Clarion makes it, so you might try one of their HU's and see if it'll control the stock changer. It is my personal opinion that it's a POS anyway, but convenience is nice, I suppose.
