Hooking up iPhone to HU

I know someone on here has an iPhone and maybe you can help. I just picked up one and I downloaded the Pandora radio application and was wanting to have it hooked up while I'm in the truck. Here is the headunit I have.

I pulled the USB cord out that is connected to the Pioneer and hooked in the USB cord for the iPhone into it thinking it would work, but no luck. Do I have to buy a different cord?

I can't help with that specific model (I have the avh3100), but do you have bluetooth in that HU? If you do, after I upgraded to the 3.0 software for the iPhone I can now do A2DP and use the radio as an output device. That allows me to stream wirelessly. It's not the full functionality of the USB cable, but it's cool to climb in the truck, wait a minute for the pairing, and then hit play and hear what I was listening to.

Yeah it has bluetooth. I haven't tried to pair the HU with the iPhone yet, but I did have it setup with my old Blackjack. I'll give that a try. Thanks man.

iPhones are not compatible with all head units that have bluetooth. I have an Alpine iva-w505 and it works well with my Samsung but will not work with the iPhone and that's from Alpine. Therefore, be aware that it won't work with all HUs, probably the only the newer higher end units...

My pioneer 4100 plays audio and pandora just fine with the USB cord. I did notice it worked with the apple cord and an apple look-a-like from chine, but I had a cleaner back cord that would give an error message. So if you have a non apple cord, try a different one and it should work I think, mine does.

I was using an Apple cord. I tried many different ways to get it connect with the cord and the bluetooth, but it's just not gonna happen. No big deal.

That radio is not iphone compatible through the USB. your only rear option is to run a aux cable around from the rear.

Aux from the rear is the only way I can think of off hand.

aux isn't the only option, bluetooth will work (possibly) too.

aux is the only safe bet. if your HU is ipod ready, your local audio store might have the cable you need

I haven't been able to get it to connect with the bluetooth. I'll just get the aux cable sometime. I still just mainly use my USB flashdrive for my music.
