Question How does your CD work?

I think my CD player is getting ready to die... When I shut the power off in the middle of a song, then turn it back on, it restarts in the middle of the song instead of indexing back to the begining of the track. Does anyone else have this problem...
I had a changer in my last Explorer that started this same action... then died a few weeks later.
How are they supposed to work?

That's the way mine has worked from day one.

That's what I thought until the dealer changed the player... the new one indexed to the start of the last track every time the power was cycled... drives you nuts when your running around town... you never get to the next song..!

I would be upset if my CD player went back to the beginning of the song every time. This must be an "feature" that you can set if you want... I've never heard of it, though.
