Audio System Removal

I have seen a few people selling their audio systems in the classifieds here. I have a '99 Civic that has a stereo system in it, that I'd like to have removed and put back to basics. I'm selling the car anyway, so I'd like to be able to sell the system separately.

Have any of you had yours professionally removed? If so, what has the cost been like?

Pretty much. I'm leaving the security system in there, but the system itself consists of:

2x 10" Alpine Subs with box
1x 800 Watt RMS Alpine Amp (on the back of the sub box)
1x 550 Watt RMS Alpine Amp (under passenger seat)
4x Alpine interior speakers
1x Alpine single DIN fold out DVD player.

Thanks guys!

Depends if they spliced your wires or not. If they didn't splice the wires its a simple 2 steps.
Take of wiring harness
Plug stock harness to stock stero
If they DID splice the wires it will very hard to go back to stock, maybe a junk yard run and get the stock harness peice.

Amps should disconnect easily. There are RCA cables and a blue intenna line. Then the power cord to the battery, and the ground (most likely attached to the seat part).

Door speakers are the same as the HU, if they spliced it would be harder. You might be able to pick up a stock connector at AutoZone, if not it may be harder ( Junk yard run).

If your highs are fed from the amp then they shouldn't have touched your oem speaker wires...they should have ran new wire from the amp straight to the speaker. So those should be quite easy...just search how to get them out or take off the door panel. Or call Best Buy...they should be able to give you a quote.
