Question CD changer--where to put

We have a 99 Supercab with captain's chairs and fixed console. I want to add my Clarion aftermarket changer. Anyone mounted the changer in the console? Is there a wiring diagram posted anywhere? (hot/acc/ground)

peace, Dennis

That's where they come from Ford on 2000-01 trucks.
You could mount it in the driver's side rear door? That's how they came in 97-98 I think.

if you want to mount it in the console, you can actually buy the mounting brackets for the factory changer from ford if you need them. The wiring of a cd changer is very straight forward ...full time power, acc power, ground, and then simply wiring to the deck.

Are you using a changer controlled by the deck or are you using an FM modulator, if using the FM modulator you also have to wire from the changer to it and also have to find a place to mount it that looks cool and is easy to see for you.

If I use the factory brackets, does the tray still fit on top?

Yes, I'm using the FM modulator. I had it in the Explorer, and don't have CD controls in the head unit. I'm still thinking about where to put the controller. I may take out the ashtray altogether, since we don't need it.

Peace, Dennis
