Here goes my crazy situation. When i turn sharply right, my speakers cut off. The amp stays powered, the headdeck keeps playing just no sound! I removed the deck and re-taped every wire and checked for pinched wires but it didnt help. I have no clue what to do short of rewiring.

My setup--4 channel amp, 2 10" subs, stock speakers.

 

check wiring to amp especially ground wire. if it is loose it will shutoff sound when moved.

 

Does it recover and start playing again? Is your amp securely fastened down? Is it grounded good? Are all the speakers powered through the amp, or are you running some off the head unit? I noticed you said re-taped every wire...are you running speaker level inputs to the amp instead of RCA line level inputs? Is there one or two outputs from the HU to the amp? Do you have any pops or other noises when it cuts out?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to sort out your setup and the situation...

 

Ok lets see if i can answer these questions:

Yes it does recover where the song currently is, as in it does not pause the CD and begins playing perfectly with no popping or other noises

The amp is bolted to the box and the back wall of the truck (its a reg. cab)and the amp is wedged in real good and cant move

All speakers run off the amp, and the sound is sent from head unit to amp using RCA's there are 2 outputs (ie 4 total RCA wires)

The power light for the amp stays on while all this is happening and no i havent checked the amp ground yet

Hummm, this is a stumper...Is the amp grounded using one of the bolts holding down the seat. Maybe when you turn to the right it's flexing and losing ground?
If it was loose signal wiring you should have a pop or some type of noise. To completely lose the signal it would have to be something to affect 2 RCA sets, or 4 speaker wires, or one ground wire. Another alternative is a loose circuit board, or a loose screw or other item moving around inside a component.

 

Ill try it turned up on high volume to see if i hear a pop. I emailed a friend of mine who owns a stereo shop and he said to take out the CD player and have someone hold it in their hand while i turn and see if it does it then. Im not sure why but i guess ill try that and check the ground.

Ok so the problem is solved and it was definitely weird. I took it to the stereo shop where im good friends with thw owner and after a little testing the problem was isolated to the remote wire. Evidently the remote ws putting out just enough power to keep the power light on but not enough to put out sound. As fot the turning right part, the way i had the wire ran it was somehow only affected turning right. So i took the truck apart and reran all the wires in a better place and its all good now. thanks for all the help everyone i appreciate it.
