IPOD With 05 FX4

I asked questions in another thread and didnt get anything back so im gonna try this.. I wanna play my ipod through my factory Head Unit. Now which one can i buy so there for i can use my radio/cd player still ? I saw the ones on Brand Motion and its 200 just for the adapter stuff then you still gotta get the charger and install card.

Im looking at this one but im not too sure. Will i have to buy anything else with this one?

Will it allow me to switch between radio/cd player and ipod or do i have to buy this as well?

If there is any better kits out there or if this isnt known for working very well let me know. Thanks Guys

Do a quick search on iPod and you'll come back with several similar threads. Several people have the BrandMotion, several people have the iSimple and several people have the PIE. Personally, I have the iSimple and it works great. Available at many places -- bought mine at Best Buy.

If your radio is like mine was in my '05, these units will not work. I seems that for them to work they have to have the AUX button and satellite ready. I ended up get a radio out of a '06 and in stalled the adapter from Simple. Works great.

Yeah i do have the AUX buttom on mine though heres a pic of my radio. But my other question is will i lose my radio/cd and all that good stuff if i plug the ispimple in? Now from what i hear with the Brand Motion it will let me be able to keep my radio/cd player. Bc i dont wanna end up having to us my cd player and opening the darn dash just to be able to use it

Best Buy's listing includes the 2005 model as being compatible.

I would check the box listing to make sure.

To your other question -- no, you do not lose anything with the iSimple (can not speak for the others). The iPod is accessed by pressing the AUX button. The CD-player, radio, and satellite radio still work (the AUX button also goes to satellite also).

I bought an OEM radio from an 08, liked the chrome rings around the buttons, and bought an iSIMPLE ISFD73. It works great, super simple install, just plug and play and you can run your ipod from the factory deck. I'm more than happy with it.
