Stock iPod and bluetooth connection

Hey guys

so i have an 08 screw with stock nav and currently i use the brandmotion iPod adapter to play my ipod.

Anyway i just found a post that someone is using a unit called isimple?

is this better than the brandmotion one?

also i would love to get bluetooth to connect to my stock nav, i thought when i first got it that the phone button was bluetooth but i was quickly wrong.

i have heard of mobile ease but i heard its not great and i would like something where you dont have a little button to push or something to answer it, like the new 09's

is there anything like this?

The Isimples are nice, but in my opinion, somewhat unreliable. They dont always work as advertised...sometimes they will give you full Ipod control, sometimes it will just give you an Aux input. Sometimes it charges, sometimes it doesnt. If you go that rout, call peripheral and give them the exact specs for your truck and what radio it has and see what kind of functions it will have and what it will retain with the isimple.

I dont know anything about factory bluetooth options that will integrate with your stock nav, but I have had great success with the aftermarket Parrot units. They are very reliable and look great when they are installed (when done correctly). Hope this helps.

Oh haha. I install for a living, I dont have either of these items personally in my truck. The Isimple is all behind the radio, all you ever see is the cable that runs to the glove box and plugs into the high speed on the ipod.

As far as parrots go, I mount the mic either on the steering column or up high on the a pillar where the panel meets the headliner. some google images of the parrot screens installed...
NBS Mustang...

F150...

I really like the way that coin holder has been modded to house the Parrot! I did a google search for F150's with the Parrot last week, but that's the only one I could find. I have the 4x4 switch there though. Does anyone else have pictures of where they mounted their car kits? Mobile-ease, Motorola, or Parrot? I'm thinking about adding one now, but I like things to look legit and factory.

I love the SYNC feature. I envy the 09 owners that have it. All I have is a button on my radio with a picture of a phone, that does nothing. Even if you get the "Ford" Mobile-Ease car kit, you still have a control module piece. At least that's my understanding.

yep same thing with me, so dumb.

i always wondered if you could take a sync nav radio out of an ford edge, i think they are the same radio

and put it in the f-150.

its something that i dont really need but i would pay bundles to have the 09 nav unit in my 08.

I really like the way factory units look factory.
But for the price of them, you could buy a really nice aftermarket unit with even more features and capabilities.
