Post CB Radio mounting

After mounting the brake contoller, I find there is little open space along the lower dash edge to mount a CB radio. I don't really want to mount the radio/bracket to the face of the dash as this would look like c--p. Looking for suggestions or alternative mounts.

Cool

You can go look at the pictures on my www page and see what I've done. You don't have to worry about looking like a cop, I don't forsee any Highway patrol driving a supercrew.

No dis-respect but I don't want to mount the unit to the face of the dash.If it has to be removed at a later time you have a series of holes starring you in the face. I may just go to a portable hand held unit

I think Cobra makes a model that the unit bolts out of the way (ie. under the seat) and the microphone has the channel and volume controls on it.

Hey, I'll check this lead out. I like the idea of tucking the unit out of sight and only having to mount the microphone clip

What I did on my 97 F150 is make a metal bracket that is an L shape. Slide one end under the seat and have the other end stand up vertiaclly right in front of the seat. I just painted mine up, but you can do lots of thing to that. The best part is it keeps the cb pretty much out ot the way.

My CB radio is kinda slim and what I did was out it in between the drivers and passenger's seat. I think it looks cool there and you always have it at your reach right next to your leg. It doesn't bug at all. (I usually use it for the PA to holler at the girls
