Question CD Player?

Does anyone know who makes a good after market CD Player for the Ford F 150 so there is no gaps or spaces in the dash once it is put in? Thanks

Yes, Visteon makes an aftermarket in-dash6 cd player. (I think Ford and Visteon have some sort of partnership.) They do not list the F-150 in their applications listing, however, I called the distributor in my area and he said that there is a small amount of plastic INSIDE the dash that needs to be cut away to make this fit in the F-150. He said it would not weaken the structure of the dash. Futher, its a perfect fit.

Price installed is $650.00.

These distributors can get the original factory installed CD-player for $350.

You just need to cut a flap in the plastic behind the radio. The original radio is wedge-shaped and the CD6 is a big block style.
(We have them for $599 including next day air shipping)

Radios and More, can you tell me more about this radio and its installation. I suspect the 'flap' that needs to be cut helps hold the factory radio in place and keeps it from vibrating. correct? If so what holds the larger cd6 in place? Is the radio of superior quality than the factory one, any specs on this. Should I upgrade the speakers?

Can you give me a quote on the factory CD player? I only have a cassette in mine; I let the dealer talk me out of it.

There are several members selling their single slot CD/radio's. Going price is about $125. I think there is one listed over at www.Ford-Diesel.com right now for that price. It's in their for sale section and is out of a 2000 Superduty. This would fit all 98 and up F series trucks and just plugs right in. You need to get the little tool to release the old one. I found one at Walmart for $3.97. Then there is one plug and the antenna wire to pull from the old one and plug into the CD unit. Just got through doing this myself My F250 SD only came with the AM/FM Cassette. Got one from a guy out of his 2000 F150 and it just plugged right in. Sweet!

Added on edit...Yep... there is one right here. Fourth Add down: http://www.Ford-Diesel.com/forsale/g...hp3?Electrical
