I've seen a few trucks done like this, most of them then run a tube or port into the cab. I think you'd be spending a lot of money so other people can hear your bass. If you haven't already been there, try out sounddomain.com and check out the install section.

Stereo Mods:
Clarion Pro Audio SRC5752s mounted in the front, tweeters mounted above arm rests.
Kenwood KFC-577Cs mounted in the rear doors.
All speakers installed with baffles behind them.
B-Quiet sound dampening installed in all doors, three layers on rear wall, and entire floor board done as well.

It's actually not that much of a waist. The type of enclosure that is usually used is a band-pass enclosure. The sub is mounted on a wall inside the enclosure. The only sound that is produced would go through the port and inside the cab. You wouldn't hear much more outside the truck than you usually would when you install subs inside the truck. The thing you would really have to worry about is the weather getting to the box and getting stollen.

I am also thinking about installing subs in my box, since I have a regular cab. Has anyone done this before? I have a sliding rear glass window, and I am thinking of installing the subs with a cap to cover the back. What is the feasability of this idea??
what does it involve doing?

John
