Double Din or not?
OK, So I had the best system I have ever had in my Buick Riviera and am now looking to transfer it to a 1997 F150 Ex-Cab that I recently purchased. What I need to know is, is the opening in an F-series dash a "Double Din" or not? I have a Pioneer DEH-425 CD player with a DEQ-7600 Digital Sound Processor. They are both standard DIN size and am looking to stack them. I find that the opening is about 1/4 to 1/2" shy. Any suggestions? If not I will be looking to sell both of these in order to get the new Kenwood P907 In dash CD player and TV/Video monitor.
It's not a double din. I had the Pioneer Cd/cass. double din and had to sell it for a Kenwood CD deck. You might be able to fit one of those Pioneer 1 1/2 din decks with some cutting. But the best bet would be a single din and buy the dash kit that has a pocket hole on the top.
i have put the Kenwood doubledin cd\cassette player in my dash. There was some cutting involved but it is worth all the compliments.

Roush, I like where your going with this. Here is what I always wanted to do. Put the sound processor in a custom overhead compartment. Nothing fancy nothing big. The cool thing is you can chose the materials, colors and shape. I would then buy some tinted plastic to cover the front so that no one can see the unit. Hope this gives you some ideas. Remember that the two units next to each other is cool but the impression that you have more then the other guy is even better. Dont be afraid to show it off.
Yes, you can put a double DIN in there...

Thanks for all of the responses. But I'll be honest...Fordman really bummed me out because I saw that Kenwood in Crutchfield recently and I think that I now have to go out and buy it .. But I am considering the overhead Idea posted by popeye. Thanks guys.
Fordman,
Damn, that is sweet! Now I'm jealous, and going out to buy a Pioneer double-din AGAIN. Now I'm gonna have to listen to my girlfriend b**ch to me for spending more $$ on the truck. Thanks guys. :-)
